HACK Horse Sanctuary – Field Shelters

The H.A.C.K. (Horse Aid Care Knowledge) Horse sanctuary is a small Rescue- Rehabilitation – Education centre, situated in small valley near Wrexham, N.E.Wales and is unique in the fact that it is run entirely by volunteers. We are also full welfare members of The National Equine Welfare Council.

We are yet again delighted to receive a grant for £6,000 from the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust to extend our facilities by building 3 more field shelters for all the rescued equine that find it too distressing to be stabled. These specially designed field shelters will have added protection for those ponies suffering from Sweet Itch etc. and who need to remove themselves from this unpleasant irritant and also of course from prevailing/adverse weather conditions.

Pamela Bluck, founder of the Sanctuary said, “We are most grateful to The Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust, they have helped us tremendously over the last 25 years, and we could never have achieved what we have without their support and of course in turn this support has helped a great many horses, ponies and donkeys”

We are always working hard for the welfare of the horse, whether it be the rescue of the horses or educating those on horse welfare and/or who want to own a horse and the responsibilities’ of ownership. We couldn’t do any of this work without support. So thank you so much to the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust
