World Horse Welfare

‘World Horse Welfare is so grateful for the donation from The Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust, which will help fund the vital development of a crew yard at our horse Rescue and Re homing Centre, Glenda Spooner Farm, in Somerset. We are seeing a significant increase in the number of horses being abandoned and mistreated across the UK, many of which are sadly coming to us as part of multiple welfare cases. The crew yard will help increase the stocking capacity of the Centre from 60 to up to 100 horses, all of which are in desperate need of our help. The careful design of our new buildings will allow safe handling and care of group welfare cases so that the process of rehabilitation and, hopefully, re homing will be more efficient.’

World Horse Welfare is the largest equine re-homing centre in the UK, finding loving new homes for around 250 horses every year. For more information on WHW please visit worldhorsewelfare.org
