Anne Robson Trust – Butterfly volunteer training

The Anne Robson Trust (ART) are extremely grateful to The Elise Pilkington Trust for their very generous donation of £4000 to support our work in partnership with The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Recruitment for a team of Butterfly Volunteers has already begun, with interviews and training taking place in May and June 2019.

By mid June this team of specially selected and trained volunteers will be providing support and companionship to patients in the hospital who are in the last days and hours of their life, many of whom have no other visitors to sit with them. The Butterfly Volunteers will also provide respite to families who need a break from sitting by the bedside, so they can get some fresh air, coffee, make phone calls, or go home to rest or change their clothes. They can do this safe in the knowledge that there is someone sitting with their loved one, and that they are not alone.

ART are working in partnership with four NHS Trusts, with many more in the pipeline. Thank you for helping us move closer to our aim that No One Should Die Alone.
