Dementia Support – New Boiler in Dementia Hub

“Thank you to the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust for this wonderful £5,000 grant making it possible for us to replace the boiler at the Sage House dementia hub. With all of our services reliant upon heating and hot water this was absolutely vital and we are very appreciative.

Sage House is a unique facility, providing a comprehensive range of services for people with dementia under one roof.  We aim to make a positive difference by offering ongoing and life-changing support for people coping with this complex and life-limiting condition. Our services help to reduce social isolation, increase mental and physical wellbeing of people with dementia and their carers.

We offer bathing as a service enhancing wellbeing and dignity for all. The adapted bathroom features walk in shower, bath with hoist for wheelchair users, and relaxing water jets – helping massage and soothe. The new boiler will mean that we can double the number of baths we can offer each day. Increasing our hot water capacity would enable us to offer between 250-500 additional baths each year.”
