Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust grants £7,000 towards stable project
The project will provide a warm and dry space for all the horses at Redwings Ada Cole. Sadly, the current stable block at our Essex visitor centre has become unfit for purpose. After standing for 50 years the walls have become rotten and recent winter storms have caused a large rip to the roof.
Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust have kindly granted Redwings £7,000 towards the replacement of a dilapidated stable block at Redwings Ada Cole.
Redwings Ada Cole is home to 80 horses, ponies and donkeys many of these horses require the stables as part of their care either as shelter from the elements or as a refuge from the lush spring grass. These stables also help prepare horses for rehoming by acclimatising them to a stable environment.
Replacing this stable block will make a crucial difference to the lives of the rescued horses in our care, now and for many years to come.
Construction work on the stables is set to start later this spring, and we offer our sincerest thanks to the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust for their generous donation to help us achieve this project. We look forward to showing visitors our new stables later in the year.
