Dean Farm Trust – Essential Care

Dean Farm Trust is a registered charity and animal sanctuary in Chepstow, South Wales, that provides a home for life to sick, ill-treated and unwanted animals.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generous grant of £2000 from the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust, to help with essential care and supplies for our 19 equine residents this winter.

Many of our 13 ponies and 6 donkeys are incredibly vulnerable, with health conditions such as Cushing’s, laminitis, Shetland Shoulder and EMS. This grant will help us support our equine residents through the winter, with funds granted to provide essential matting for their stables along with straw bedding for the winter months when they need to be inside.

The Covid-19 pandemic has massively affected our ability to fundraise, as we have not been able to collect at supermarkets, attend festivals and events, or visit schools and businesses. We have also had to cancel lots of events, which are a vital source of donations. The kindness of the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust has ensured we can provide essentials such as straw, hay and care for some of our most vulnerable residents in these difficult times.

Thank you for your support of our Sanctuary x”
