Katharine House Hospice, Stafford provides palliative, hospice care to adults with a terminal illness such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure. The hospice has a ten-bedded inpatient unit which offers respite care, symptom management and end-of-life care.
“Thanks to a generous grant of £5,909 from the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust, the hospice will be able to upgrade and purchase a new nurse alarm call system which will alert the care team of any trips, falls or unusual movements by patients. The system is particularly important for elderly and frail patients who are unsteady on their feet, but wish to maintain a level of independence. This new system will play a vital part in maintaining and ensuring the safety of our patients for many years to come and we are very grateful to the Trust for funding this much-needed alarm system.”
