St. Michael’s Hospice (North Hampshire) is extremely grateful to the Elise Pilkington Charitable Trust for the grant of £2,000 to help fund the purchase of an ultrasound machine to be used in the treatment of our patients. Our patients will often experience a build-up of fluid in the abdomen or lungs, leading to discomfort and breathlessness. Using the ultrasound machine we can locate and treat and affected area, alleviating breathlessness and discomfort, as well reducing anxiety and fear.
We are also delighted to be able to introduce this new facility to the Hospice as it will remove the need for patients to be transported to North Hampshire Hospital to be treated, which can make it stressful and uncomfortable due to their ill health.
